From Sophie Cunningham's point of view, the front office overhaul caught the team by surprise.
While attending the F1 United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, the Fever guard said that there was a shock factor to these departures but also saw a positive side to it.
"There was not a lot of warning, and that's OK. I think it's probably a good thing that you keep it in-house a little bit."
Cunningham gave props to Krauskopf and Cox, two executives whom she has worked with since she joined the Fever in 2025.
"Kelly and Amber, they're phenomenal people. They cared a lot about us as players and as individuals outside the court. So, I have nothing but great things to say about them."
On Friday, the Fever announced the stepping down of Krauskopf and the dismissal of Cox. Krauskopf had reportedly informed the team about her decision to leave before the season ended.
As for Cox, she leaves the Fever after two seasons helping the team make the playoffs. Cox's track record includes both merits (navigating the injury-riddled 2025 season by signing quality players who stepped up) and demerits (signing DeWanna Bonner and subsequently failing to keep her for one full season).
It could be a long offseason for the Fever, who were eliminated by the Las Vegas Aces in the first round of this year's playoffs. One of the first steps they'll need to take is finding successors for Krauskopf and Cox.
In the meantime, Sophie Cunningham will be watching the WNBA Finals with keen interest.
On Saturday's episode of the "No Hesitation" podcast, Cunningham revealed that she'll be in attendance when the Golden State Valkyries host the Atlanta Dream at Chase Center.
"I'm invited to Game 5 of the WNBA Finals. I'm thinking of bringing someone, maybe Caitlin Clark, with me to the game. It's unbelievable what both teams are doing right now. And of course, my favorite person to win Finals MVP is Angel Reese."
Game 5 is scheduled to take place on Monday at 8 p.m. ET.
